My name is Mark Gajdostik and I own TNT Martial Arts. By now you've heard of mixed martial arts, right? If you haven't heard of Mixed Martial Arts you've undoubtedly heard of the UFC!
Anyway - Back in 1993 I watched my first UFC when I was working on making my curriculum more self defense oriented. In fact, I watched every one of the early UFCs and that's when I knew that even though I had already earned Black Belts in two martial arts, that I would begin to study the art of Jujitsu and incorporate it into my curriculum.
And that's what I did!... In 1994 I began training in Jujitsu. I also began developing and teaching police combatives, and for over 10 years while I was a police officer I applied ALL of my skills from verbal to physical, all with the mindset of strength, so I guess you can say that I was doing "Mixed Martial Arts” even before it was even a household word!
Now - our school in Hillsboro, which is across from Costco and shares a parking lot with the OurPlace Church, is training men, women, teenagers and kids in family-friendly Mixed Martial Arts...not for competition, but for real life! We do compete and do quite well, but our focus is building Black Belts from the inside-out with our self-defense focused curriculum, Heroes in Waiting character education program, and a focus on core values and courtesy.
